Sheikh Umar Farooq

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Sciences at the North Campus, University of Kashmir. I was awarded Ph.D. by University of Kashmir in Aug, 2012 for my mediocre thesis entitled "Evaluating Effectiveness of Software Testing Techniques with Emphasis on Enhancing Software Reliability". I qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Computer Science and Applications conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC), India in June 2014. 

 

My research interests include Empirical Software Engineering with Focus on Software Testing Techniques Evaluation and Software Reliability Improvement through effective software testing. I have more research manuscripts rejected than accepted. However, to date, this research has led to 29 Refereed papers published in International Journals and Conference Proceedings. Two Books have also been published by me in reputed international and national publishing houses. Currently, i am working on designing a framework for evaluation of testing techniques. I have an h-index of 10 and my articles have been cited 378 times on Google Scholar.
